Tennis!

The kids have been bugging us incessantly to come hit a tennis ball with them.  Their Uncle Geoff loves the sport and has got them excited about tennis.  Our local Parks and Rec department offers week long tennis lessons and Lane and Morgan are hooked!  We might have to fit another week in this summer.

A big grin and 'bring it on!'

Practicing 'pancakes.'

Mom, I'm on the wrong side of the fence!  This is one of those times when being the youngest is a bit of a bummer.  But Logan kept himself entertained bashing his own ball into the fence and telling me, "next year, Mom!"

Riding High

Here is the highlight of Preps for our boys:
Bronson took them up in the Genie lift. They don't remember how white-knuckled they were, only how exciting it was to be so high up!

Now, not only are preps past, but our conventions too.  It always amazes me how we look forward to them for so long and then, zip, there they went!  Special, encouraging days for sure!

School's Out!

Morgan (along with 74 other munchkins) was happily promoted from Kindergarten to First Grade last week.  The whole thing was a hoot watching the teachers herd a long line of 6-year-olds through the program.  One of the parents described it as similar to herding cats.  It was a bit crazy but they all ended up with their certificates and we all got a few chuckles.  Mission accomplished!

They came in singing a pirate song (as their school's mascot is a pirate) complete with eye patch.

Here is Morgan with her certificate and her jogging medal.  She ran 29 miles in Jogging Club and was only a mile shy of earning her t-shirt.  Not bad for those little legs of hers!

Lane earned his t-shirt for the second year.  His goal was 45 miles but about halfway through the 6-week time frame he figured out how to run without stopping to rest.  It made all the difference!

And now it's time for summer!  The days stretch out before us and all sorts of things to look forward to.  Happy Summer to each of you!
