At convention, Lane found a piece of twine and some sticks and they kept him happily occupied between meetings. Before meeting, Daddy told him to leave them outside the meeting shed. Of course there was one meeting when some other little boy found himself a treasure trove of fun and Lane emerged to find his pile gone. He was not pleased. Our friend Dee ended the distress when she offered Lane another piece of twine she had found.
All was well and good. Until he dropped it over the deck and into the pond during a pretend fishing session. Oh boy, here we go again! When Dee (a rancher's wife) saw him without his twine the second time she took pity on him and decided he needed a real rope. So when we saw her the next weekend, she was ready! A piece of twine it was not. She told me that every little boy needs a real rope.
Now that we're home, the fun has begun in earnest. No tree is safe around here!
But it is much more fun to rope something that moves (I'm waiting to hear a squeal or two from some younger siblings) and so he began experimenting...
Hmmm...what happens if I rope my foot?
Mom, this is fun!
Meanwhile, Mommy is thinking that some things are destined to end ...

Jake thought this was absolutely hilarious!!! Great story and can't wait to see you all!!! Hugs from Auntie Laurie
