July (the rest...)

Where did we leave off?  Oh yes, Banff.  We arrived home on Sunday afternoon and Ryan turned around and headed off for France on a business trip Monday morning.  It was his first time overseas and while they didn't have a lot of time for sightseeing, they fit some in.  They did tour a castle in Angers, near their hotel.

The castle was a summer retreat for the French royal family and then served as a prison sometime in the 1700's (I think...).  During that time frame, they lopped off the top of the towers.  The moat is now grass and in some places intricate gardens (bottom of the picture on the right).  Ryan and his co-workers also visited the large cathedral in the center of town.

The gardens inside the castle walls.

They spent a night in Paris before catching their plane home so they headed for the Eiffel Tower.

The guys climbed to the second level but decided not to wait in line and pay more money to take the elevator to the top.  Still, they were able to get a nice view of Paris.

So, what's a Mom to do when Daddy's touring France?
Head to the beach!  We met my family at Hunters for a couple of days of fun in the sun.

Logan thinks pretty highly of his cousin Jake and cheered him on while Jake was knee-boarding.

The tubes provide lots of excitement.   Morgan even went for a tube ride with Cora - no adult required!

The uncles did their part in keeping their nephews entertained!

The whole group of kiddos - adults stayed busy with head counts!

When Daddy got back, we dealt with jet lag by going fishing.  Here's our first Kokanee caught on our lake since they opened the Kokanee fishery back up.

It was a busy July - I don't think we could have fit more in if we tried!

Happy August to each of you!
