It feels like winter now - we've gone for a trail ride on the snowmobiles! December was a cold month for us (by our standards anyway, nothing compared to the Northern Plains) but didn't come with much snow. The mountains around here are still well below their normal snow pack, but there was finally enough snow for the groomers to get to work. The kids were beyond excited and we all love an excuse to get out of the house and go!

Last year we had to hike the last bit up to the lookout but this year the trail was clear all the way up to the top. That's one positive thing about having less snowfall!
