General summer activities

There is usually no shortage of things going on here in the summer.  We have had the privilege of being included in many people's vacations.

Paddle boards always provide entertainment. 

Lane is never far from his fishing rod. 

Evenings on the water are always relaxing

  

The blueberry crop didn't disappoint this year.  My bushes are getting a bit more mature and still putting out more berries than we can use. 

Sometimes the kids are happy to just have some inside time.  Morgan was introduced to this little felt sewing machine that is quite clever.  Logan and her had a great time making all sorts of stuff with it

Nothing like the "farming game" to provide good entertainment. 

Morgan.... still sewing. I've been impressed with her creativity.   She has figured out how to make shirts,  pants,  skirts,  ect. for her dolls and stuffed animals. 

Swimming Lessons

Kyla was here to bring the kids to swim lessons one week and the next week I worked from home a few days and got to bring them to some as well. 

What a great place to learn to swim! 

Morgan and Logan are thrashing somewhere in there. 

Lane' s group got to spend time at the floating dock diving and swimming.  

After lessons were over that's where all three usually ended up.  The kids really did well this year in their lessons and they have gotten lot's of practice this summer. 

Silverwood!

The kids got free Silverwood tickets from reading last year at school so I told them I would take them sometime this summer. Originally I was thinking I would take a day off work and take them midweek but because of timing I just went for a Saturday. Let's just say I wouldn't recommend going on the weekend.

Morgan and I took another car just to be safe. 

An old train takes people on a relaxing ride that includes buffalo and a train robbery....or should I say "fund raiser" as they called it.

There was some good acting with an old west shootout but not before the robbers tried to get into everyone's wallet.   One thing about these theme parks, they know how to shake as much loose change and bills out of you as they can.

This ride isn't quite as thrilling as the roller coaster but it did last longer.

The wave pool was packed as well.  It was sort of a challenge to dodge all the bodies floating and flailing in the waves. 

This was a good tube ride we waited a long time to get on.

I think bumper boats was Logan's favorite.  They had powered squint guns.  Nobody left this ride dry.

Wouldn't be complete without one rollercoaster ride.

And of course we had to finish off with some icecream! 

Niece Kyla helps out

After our adventures at Fort Peck we brought my niece Kyla home with us so she could help with kids.  She did much more than help with the kids though.  We had many delicious meals she fixed as well.

Ft. Peck

It's been a while since I've had a spare moment to try and catch up with this blog.  This post was from our time with my family at Fort Peck the week after the 4th of July.  The weather was very warm and we had a wonderful time with family. 

We had a real good circle of camp chairs setup where we enjoyed our evening meals. 

Its nice to get to celebrate a birthday!

The food line is always a good spot to be.

One evening we got into some lake trout.  I think we boated 10 in a little over a couple hours.  They were all nice sized and had some good fight in them.

The paddle boards provided fun and entertainment for all ages.  Logan seems to like to be on the entertainment side of things.

Always good to get some relaxing beach time in. Jeannie would always say I can't sit still long enough to relax but here is a picture that is proof that at least I'm sitting long enough for a picture. 

Got a few tube rides in again.  It always seems to be a crowd pleaser.

The bluegill pond proved to be a good spot for visiting and fishing. 

Even though they are small their is still something about catching a fish that seems to never grow old for a few of us.

Biking and running were also daily activities.

Nice to have had some musical talents amongst us as well.

And I came upon this one relaxing in the hammock with a book.
