The week we were gone, a mama turkey and her 11 babies decided to make our yard their home and they've been providing entertainment ever since. The first time we noticed them, Ryan got Lane his pop gun (the Christopher Robin style pop gun with the plastic cap attached to the string) and sent him after them. Lane was quite delighted by the whole thing and we laughed until our sides ached. Ryan got a portion of the chase on video (it's a bit small but you'll get the idea):
Did you hear him right at the end? "I got one!"

Lane hasn't gone too far without his pop gun this week and the turkeys aren't too concerned by a three-year-old toting a pop gun. They just head into the pasture and wait for him to lose interest. Lane loves telling anyone who'll listen about his 2-lb. turkey he shot in the weeds!
