Summer is coming to a close, although you wouldn't know it by our temperatures. This past week has been one of our hottest. Hot enough to avoid using the kitchen. Instead we grilled burgers down at our local beach one evening last week. The kids were fine with that. It meant swimming!
Mobility has changed this little guy's world. No longer content to hang out on the towel and play, he followed the kids right into the water. While Mommy sighed about forgetting his swimsuit, Daddy stripped him down to a diaper. Splashing began. All was well.
Morgan has grown quite independent in the water this summer. She now thinks being deep enough to not touch is exciting - certainly not what she thought in July! Her giggles and shrieks are very contagious.Meanwhile, Lane is off to the races. He doesn't slow down for much. Well, maybe long enough to scarf down a cheeseburger. Then he's off again.
I have to admit, these last days of summer and first days of fall are some of my favorite. There's something about the quality of light. Not quite as harsh, maybe? The hint of winter just around the corner? I'm not sure what it is. We're just doing our best to soak it all up!

Oooh, I love the last days of summer and Logan's baby rolls!!! Too cute =) We have loved the kiddie pool, slip and slide, and even discovered the splash park 5 minutes from the new house!! Loving the last days of summer here too =)
