A New Year's Trail Ride

Happy New Year to each of you!  We're wrapping up our break and heading back into the school routine tomorrow.  So before we do, here are a few pictures from our New Year's Day fun.  We were pretty lame and celebrated New Year's with our fellow East Coast citizens but it just meant we had the road and snowmobile trail to ourselves New Year's morning.  

We explored above Priest Lake and despite the clouds, the lake was still visible.

Some photo ops with our kiddos who enjoy the great outdoors and seem quite happy to be along for the ride.  We are glad for that!

This particular trail ends at a very nice hut with a wood stove.  There was a group there before us so we walked right in and enjoyed the warmth of the fire they had going.  It is definitely a perk to be able to eat lunch in out of the elements!

While their mom thawed out, the kids enjoyed playing in the snow bank below the eaves.

Logan enjoys his chariot.  Ryan did some enhancing and version 2 of the Burley bike trailer turned sled seems to be a smoother ride.  Put the cover down and add a blanket (and the 'wa-wa' we've been slow to wean him from) and he stays pretty cozy in there!
