Lane earned his Butterfly Wings and is on to 1st Grade! Wow. What a year it's been! The Kindergarten teachers hosted a Kindergarten Promotion for the three classes and what a bundle of energy 60 almost-1st graders are! It's enough to make you grin like crazy.
Here they come:
A reassuring word from Ms. P. before welcoming the crowd.
Hard to believe this is the same kid who didn't want me to leave him on the playground by himself last September! He read his bit with less nerves then Mom had in the audience! He told me afterwards that the microphone was 'really heavy!'
The peanut gallery.(: I tried to get a picture of him waving at Lane but no go.
A newly promoted 1st Grader.
Every morning before school in the month of May, the students could participate in Jogging Club. The PE teacher in me was thrilled to see how many kids were out jogging laps day after day. Lane earned third place for all of the Kindergarten. He ended up jogging 25 miles!
Here is Ms. P. handing him his hard-earned medal.
What a day! A medal, a free ticket to Silverwood for meeting the reading goal, butterfly wings...that all makes for a bright smile! We're proud of you, Lane!

What a neat post about Lane's butterfly wings! I love all his facial expressions :) Way to go Lane!
ReplyDeleteWe're proud too Lane. Wish we could have been there. Before you know it - it'll be your high school graduation - keep up the good work and enjoy every moment along the way.
