End of school awards

The school has a small awards ceremony the last day of school and they had told me that I needed to be there.  I was planning on it but they had wanted to do something in recognition of Jeannie and the volunteer work she had done at the school.

They dedicated a buddy bench that they will place out on the playground with a plague that has her name and information on it.  The buddy bench is for any kids that are having a hard time or just need a friend can go and sit there.  Then other kids know that they need a friend.  It is so fitting because Jeannie was a friend to any and all.

Lane got the President's award for outstanding academic achievement in his class. I am very proud of his dedication and hard work he puts into school. He finished the 4th grade with all A's and some of the highest standardized testing scores.

He pumped out 47 miles this spring in the 4 weeks they do their jogging club.  It wasn't easy this year either with the rain and mud they had to deal with.  Some parents sent their kids with extra cloths to change into after running through the mud in the mornings.

My runners.   Lane hurt his foot part way through so he didn't get as much as he hoped for.  Morgan got a bit less this year as well.... she wasn't excited to run in the mud.
