Setting the Scene: It's Saturday night, bath night. It's bath time. The floor is still littered with toys. A normal Saturday night.
The Characters: 1 tired Momma with arms full of toys, in the living room; 1 tired Daddy checking the Beaver-Trojan football score on the office computer (the Beavs won!); 1 tired baby, still awake in the swing; 2 wide awake children doing who knows what, in the office.
Momma: "Mor-gan JEAN. Please pick up these dolls!" (For at least the third time).
Morgan: "I am." No pitter patter of little feet.
Momma: "Mor-gan JEAN, ONE!"
Morgan: No response.
Momma: Heavy sigh. "TWO!"
Daddy sits back and quietly observes in the office/playroom: Morgan starts picking up the doll accessories a little quicker and putting them in the doll crib.
Momma: Patience has run out..."THREE."
Momma rounds corner into office. Sees Morgan frantically shoveling doll stuff into the doll crib. Morgan looks up and sees Momma rounding the corner. Immediately drops to her bottom. Meanwhile, Daddy is doing his very best to laugh silently.
Momma: "Oh ... ah ... um ... you are ..." Makes eye contact with Daddy and hears from the direction of the doll crib, in a small voice:
"Never mind."
Hmmm ... wonder where she's heard that before! Oh, and the laughter was no longer silent.
What a ham! Have you got a blizzard up there tonight?
