A Birthday Weekend

For most of the month of September, we've been involved in a countdown.  Well, 2 countdowns really.  Morgan and Logan's birthdays are 2 days apart and our house has been bursting with excitement.  In addition to birthdays, we were also anticipating Bumpa and Grammy's visit.  It was a big weekend!

Little Miss Morgan with her ladybug cake.  Three is such a fun birthday since it's really the first one kids anticipate.  And boy has she been anticipating it!  We've been hearing all about how big she's going to be when she turns 3.  

This cutie patootie is 1 now.  This last year went fast!  His older siblings are quite excited that his is no longer 'zero'.

After a bath to wash off the evidence of eating his first piece of cake (I'll post those pictures later), he happily tore paper.  He wasn't as concerned with what was inside.

Morgan happily tore paper too.  However, she was more concerned with what was inside!  These Melissa and Doug food sets are quite neat - they velcro together so they can be 'cut' apart again.  A definite hit.  Thank you Bumpa and Grammy!

 A visit isn't complete without reading a book (or two or three) with Bumpa.

Like the older kids have already discovered, Logan is learning that having Grammy around is a splendid thing! 

Sure Grammy, you can take our picture ... just as long as we get to see it on the camera!

Our sweet girl is growing up. 

Thanks for all the notes and cards.  Checking the mailbox was quite exciting for the kids this past week!
