The little community where we stayed put on quite the parade. The kids had fun watching all the parade floats and waving the flags that were handed out. Afterwards, we asked the boys what their favorite part of the parade. Cole responded (w/o hesitating) "the fire trucks" and Zach responded (slight hesitation) "the am-bu-wance." Lane paused and then looked up at us, "the CANDY!" That's my boy! Of course Morgan is Lane's mimic so that was her response too. Either that or they've both inherited my sweet tooth...
This time the guys decided that it was more economical just to buy crab off the crabbing boat and be assured of getting keeper crabs. So one evening we had a surf and turf dinner (the steak was delicious!). Josh and Ryan were not going to let one piece of crab meat go to waste and they made the rest of us sick watching them stuff themselves. Apparently, not only is it more economical to buy direct, it tastes better too - even when they're so stuffed they should have quit 2 or 3 crabs ago. However, Lane didn't agree. "Mommy, this does not have good flavor!" Well, my boy, I can see how you'd feel that way!
And finally, a few pictures from the beach:
This little ragamuffin did her best to keep up with the big boys.
Proof that us ladies were along too.
Digging to China as every boy must attempt at some point in his lifetime. (:
Sweet little Eli.
