Remembering Logan's First Week

This last week we've been trying to remember little things from the first weeks after Lane and Morgan were born, with questionable success. Things seem to be quite foggy from those time frames ... oh, who are we kidding, from the first several months of their lives! Since we are well into sleep deprivation mode and in the interest of saving our sanity a few years down the road, here are a few funny things we'd like to remember from the past week:

• We are into building immunities around here: Lane was sucking on a sucker last week and told Bumpa he dropped it. Dad asked him if he'd cleaned it off. Lane replied, "Yeah, with my teeth!" And Morgan has renewed her interest in pacifiers, finding Logan's especially satisfying.
• Logan is an amazing sleeper. He can sleep through anything his siblings throw at him, screeches, pokes, you name it. But there's something about the quiet darkness from 2 am to about 4 am that he must not miss! That is his most consistent awake time. Sigh.
• It's not so much what Morgan says as when she is not talking that we're most concerned. When we've realized Morgan is too quiet, we've discovered the following: Mommy's scrap booking stash is in serious jeopardy; she's closed the door to her room and is enjoying her pacifier (she's been just using them at nap and bedtime for several months); she's digging in the garbage or playing in the toilet; grabbing things off the counter or climbing onto the counter - You cannot turn your back on this little munchkin!
• The first thing the kiddos ask when they wake up is "where's baby?" and Lane always gives him a kiss, a pat and a "love you, baby" before heading outside to play. It is cute to see how much they adore "Baby Logan."
